In early January, I joined a program to improve my overall health. I am overweight and have lot of digestive issues. One of them is bloating and farting, which prompted me to write this article.

This was causing a problem- if I get an urge to fart in public, it was causing me discomfort to supress it. Earlier, I tried medications like digestives and gas adsorbants like activated charcoal that helped me supress farting and reduce bloating to some extent.

However, they were causing me more discomfort as I was getting constipated. Later, the health program that I am trying, suggested having a simple solution to overcome this digestive issue- a decoction of two common spices from the kitchen. Here’s the recipe-

Ingredients: Cumin seeds and carom seeds. 500 ml [1/2 litre] water.

How to make it: Boil 500 ml water. Roast cumin and carom seeds separately till they splutter and add one by one to the boilng water. Stir for 4 to 5 minutes while still boiling, stop boiling and then let it cool a bit for another 4 to 5 minutes. Filter this decoction and drink it on empty stomach early in the morning.

Conclusion

Remember, everyone’s body is different, so it may take some trial and error to find what works best for you.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, it’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and guidance.
